TSW1400EVM: Output format and post processing options

Part Number: TSW1400EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TX517, TX810

Hello team,

I'm looking to design an ultrasound imaging system with the below signal chain

TX517 -> TX810 -> Transducer -> AFE58xx -> TSW1400 -> Post processing -> Display

Please help me with below queries

1. What is the output format for TSW1400EVM ? Can it be directly used for post processing to generate required images ?

2. Can you suggest some image processing boards from TI that could help my need.

I'm completely new to this and please excuse if the query isn't clear.

Regards,

Jayadev

  • Hello Jayadev,
    The TSW1400EVM is designed as a capture card to pair with the High Speed Data Converter Pro software we offer. HSDC Pro can save off captures as I32 CSV files that you can view directly in Excel or import as an ASCII file into an analysis program. There is also a binary save option, but this format is really only useful for re-import back into HSDC Pro.

    The next step you can consider is to automate the HSDC Pro software. After it is installed, view this directory to see Labview, C, Matlab, and Python automation examples
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\HSDCPro Automation DLL\Manual and Examples

    The TSW1400EVM firmware is made available on the TSW1400EVM page. If your prototype needs more performance (capture retrigger rate, deterministic retrigger, etc) you can edit the firmware in Quartus (Intel FPGA development software) to meet your needs. Please understand though we are not able to support custom firmware on the TSW1400EVM.

    Regards,
    Brian
