LMP90100: LMP9009x Unconnected Pins

My customer wants to use the LMP90100, but wants to be able to use the LMP90099, LMP90098 and LMP9097 to make sure that they always have stock of materials. The data sheet states that pins 5-7 and 10-12 need to be unconnected. The customer has connected them to GND. Will this be an issue in the ’99, ’98 and ’97 IC’s?

    I've checked the bonding of these devices and the pins are indeed bonded to the die. This means that there is an electrical connection the pins. I'll need to check with the original product group about the reason for insisting that they leave 5-7 and 10-12 unconnected.

    In the meantime, can they lay out the device with series resistances? If the device is the LMP90100 then they can insert a 0Ω resistor, if it's one of the other devices, they could leave the series resistor unpopulated, floating the pin.

    I talked to one of the original application engineers associated with this product. Grounding the pins (instead of leaving them unconnected) should not affect the operation of the device.
