I am testing several ADCs from the ADS79xx line using the EVMs. I am wondering the purpose of the EEPROM on the board. Is it for device identification to the motherboard or to load registers? Also, is it possible to order preprogrammed EEPROMs for these boards?

Jeremy,

The EEPROM is used for board and device identification by the ADCPro software alone. Once identified and paired with the correct GUI, the device registers are loaded from the software.
