I'd like to test the digital interface between TVP5151 and the host. I use the 8-bit YUV422 with discrete outputs.

Can I use the "black output" feature to force TVP5151 to drive its digital outputs WITHOUT feeding it a video signal? Is this the purpose of this feature?

Is the number of active pixels/lines generated in the black output dependent on the video standard set in VIDEO STANDARD REGISTER? Or is it a fixed value?

I have set up NTSC-M as video standard and I measured only around 240 active lines between 2 VS pulses.

what is the number of active lines/active pixels I should expect from the "black output" function?

Gilles,

The number of active lines/active pixels output are depend on your current format. So, if the current format is NTSC, it will generate black output like NTSC.
