ADS1292R: Cannot acquire ECG signal

Part Number: ADS1292R

Dear all,

I m trying to get the ECG signal from ADS1292R.

I did the procedure on page 63 of datasheet to get the signal test and it seems to work fine (as attached).

From this procedure, I only changed CONFI2 register from 0xA3 to 0xA0 and CHnSET from 0x05 to 0x00.

But I couldn't get the ECG signal, as you can see the document attached.

I am using the channel 2 to read the ECG because I want to configure later respiration at channel one. My schematic is already configured to measure respiration and ECG.

Could you give me any idea about what is going wrong with my procedure?

Thank you very much,

Best Regards.Test 02-18.xlsx

  • Hello Eugenia,

    Thanks for your post!

The internal test signal looks very clean, so I imagine the ADS1292R is working fine. The register settings you used for ECG should not be a problem, so I imagine the issue is from the signal source or something in your schematic. Can you please attach a PDF of your ADS1292R schematic and show the signal path for the electrodes?

What are you using for an ECG signal source? Can you first try using a function generator? Try applying a 100 mVp, 10 Hz sine wave. Set the DC offset to mid-supply for the ADC and connect the signal generator output to one of the channel 2 inputs. Tie the other channel 2 input to the same mid-supply voltage (this is easier if you are using +/- 1.5 V supplies such that 0 V is also mid-supply). Be sure to share the ground connection between your board and the function generator.

    Best Regards,
