ADS1248: Please recommend component similar specification as ADS1248

I am choosing 24 bit TI ADC chip now. So far, I chose ADS1248/124S08. But when I programed to those device, the controlling sequences are complicated, which will be lost of control in harsh surroundings. Then I turn to ADS1234 controlled by pins. Thus its settings will be easy to reduce risks. After reading datasheet, its specifications can meet my requirements--24bit, 8/12 channels, low power, low drift and high precision, just like ADS1248/124S08. But for the single-ended signals, ADS1234 can only get 0-2.5V range when 5V power is used. And its PGA gain is 1, 2, 64, 128 without 8 as a bridge between gain 2 and 64.

Could you please suggest another chip with a similar specification as ADS1248?

    As you've mentioned ADS124S08 is the next closest device to the ADS1248. After that I would say that the ADS1220 is also close to the ADS1248, but with fewer input channels. Another device is the ADS1262, which has a higher data rate and more features. Similar to the ADS1220 are the ADS122U04 and the ADS122C04 (with UART and I2C interfaces).

    However all these devices have several configuration registers that need to be programmed and all require some complex communication to setup the device and read data.

    If you're having problems with the controlling communication sequences, are you losing data or having problems with noise? Even in harsh environments with EMI/RFI, there are things that you can do to limit the effect of these problems. Some require considerations back in the layout of the PCB, but even simple shielding can help with this (if the board is already completed).
