Hi TI Support,

Is the USB 2.0 can power the ADS1298R evm board ?

I connected the ADS1298R evm board to my PC using only the USB 2.0 but there is no device recognized on my device manager and the ADS1298/8R EVM Evaluation Software indicates : "Download failed .. reset the Hardware"

I already measured power supply from the Test points (TP7, 9, 10...) and all indicates 0V.

I have to power the MMB0 board using the Jack adapter ?

Hello Ghada,

Thank you for your post.

The minimum USB requirements for the board are USB1.1, so USB 2.0 should be fine.

Was the software for the board downloaded to your PC before connecting the device? If not, that could be the issue.

Have you tried swapping out the USB cable or testing the USB port?

Please consult section C.1 and C.2 on page 60 of the ADS1298RECG-FE User's Guide for more detailed information.

Hi Ghada,

Apologies, but I think I misunderstood your question. The USB port is only used for data, not power.

So if the board in not powered up then it certainly won't be recognized by the PC.

The MMB0 board can be powered by either the J2 Jack adapter or applying 5V-6V to the top J12 jumper and connecting ground to either TP3 or TP4.

Hi Alexander,

Let me first thank you.

It was very helpful, I powered up the MMB0 board using J2 and TP3 and it is now working, and i successfully can use the ADS1298R evm evaluation software.
