Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC16DX370, , LMK04828
We are trying to use an ADC16DX370EVM Evaluation Module along with a Xilinx VC707 Evaluation Kit to evaluate the TI ADC16DX370 Analog-to-Digital Converter.
Is this possible and, if so, is there an explicit set of instructions available describing how to do it?
The only documentation we’ve found that seems relevant are the ADC16DX370EVM User’s Guide (SLAU529A revised December 2014) and TSW14J10EVM FMC-USB Interposer Card User’s Guide (SLAU580B revised September 2016) but neither of these deals specifically with the case of using the ADC16DX370EVM Evaluation Module along with a Xilinx VC707 Evaluation Kit.
Using these two documents as a guide we’ve managed to:
Install the High Speed Data Converter Pro (v4.80) and ADC16DX370EVM Configuration GUI software.
Connect the ADC16DX370EVM Evaluation Module to the TSW14J10EVM FMC-USB Interposer Card and the combined card set to J35 of the Xilinx VC707 Evaluation Board.
Connect the appropriate power supplies, signal generators for the CLK and VINA- inputs, and USB cables from the TSW14J10EVM and ADC16DX370EVM circuit cards to the PC.
We started the High Speed Data Converter Pro and ADC16DX370EVM Configuration GUI software and they both seem to come up normally and connect to the associated boards via the USB ports.
It appears that we’re able to use the ADC16DX370EVM Configuration GUI to manipulate the internal registers of the ADC16DX370 and LMK04828 devices on the ADC16DX370EVM circuit card.
From the High Speed Data Converter Pro GUI it appears that we’re able to use the “Download Firmware” function to load FPGA configuration images from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\14J10VC707 Details\Firmware folder onto the Xilinx VC707 Evaluation Board.
Ultimately, the problem we’re having is that no options are presented in the “Select ADC” pull-down window of the High Speed Data Converter Pro GUI for ADC16DX370 devices so, consequently, the “Capture” button remains inactive. Seems like maybe we’re missing some additional configuration files.
Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
David Helsel
