ADS1120QPWRQ1-Leakage Current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1120-Q1

In the actual application, we found that there will be leakage flow in ADS1120QPWRQ1, which does not find a clear scope in the manual. Can you help to provide the scope of leakage flow?

When open, the leakage flow is about how many uA;

When closed, the leakage flow is about how many uA;

Thank you very much!

  • Hi Jeffrey,

    This is a difficult kind of question to answer in words as the leakage is dependent on the channel selected, temperature and input voltage.  Starting on page 11 of the ADS1120-Q1 datasheet are several figures showing the input currents as both absolute and differential for temperature and input voltage.  Some of the current is due to sampling from the PGA input chopping.  Actual leakage takes place in ESD structures and internal switches.  As can be seen from the figures, the leakage for AIN3 is the largest which is mostly due to the sizing of FETs used for the low-side switch.  In general the leakage will get larger as the temperature increases.

    Best regards,
