ADS130E08: differences between Unipolar and Bipolar Power Supply

Part Number: ADS130E08

I selected the ADS130E08 ADC for my project that will connect to Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA. In Datasheet that TI offered, two configuration for power supply is recommended(Uni-polar and Bipolar) that I can't realize the differences between them. what is the differences and which way is better and stable? Note: that I want to measure ac signals with +- amplitudes

  • Hi Javad,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our forum!

There is no difference in performance between unipolar and bipolar analog power supplies. The benefit to using bipolar supplies is that ground becomes your mid-supply voltage, allowing you to drive the input pins with analog signals that swing above and below ground without the need to level-shift.

    Best Regards,
