TLA2024: Data rate and performance relation

Genius 17965 points

Part Number: TLA2024

Hello

Data rate of TLA202x can be selected from the range of 128 to 3300.

Datasheet defines system performance parameters specification at only 128SPS.

There is no information for other data rate.

If using higher data rate, is there any performance decline compared with 128SPS?

Regards,

Oba

  • Oba-san,

There will be little difference in the performance at data rates from 128 SPS to 3300 SPS for the TLA202x. There are only two things that I can think of that will be affected by the data rate.

First, the ADC noise will be different. At 3300SPS, the noise will be about 0.25 LSB, where at 128SPS, the ADC noise will likely be below 0.1 LSB for a full scale range of ±2.048V. The differences may be reduced and the noise may be a little larger in LSB for smaller full scale ranges. Second, the frequency response of the ADC will be different. The digital filter of the ADC will look like a sinc filter with the first zero at the data rate (either at 128Hz or 3300Hz for the lowest and highest data rates).
