DAC38RF80: About datasheet description

Part Number: DAC38RF80

Hello,

Just wanted to confirm about the meaning of the description.

1) Does "alarm" in 0x0A of Page 1/2 mean the alarm which can mask by below register? I think all alarm are ORed and alarm information is output to alarm pin which can control output/not output by ALM_OUT_ENA.

 - 0x02 and 0x03 of page 0

- 0x0E tp 0x11 of page 1/2

2) Does goofy output mean unexpected/undesired output data? It is in ZERO_INVLD_DATA of 0x0C of page 1/2.

If my understanding is incorrect, please let me know the meaning.

Best regards,

Toshihiro Watanabe

  • Hi Toshihiro,

    1) If an alarm is masked, it will not have any effect on the alarm pin of the DAC. You are correct that the all the alarms are ORed together and output on the alarm pin
    2) Yes, goofy output means the output is undesired or incorrect

    Thanks,
    Eben.
