ADS1292R: ADS1292R current consumption problems

Part Number: ADS1292R

I have 2 questions about ADS1292R current consumption, please help me to understand, thanks! :

  1. How do I understand the meaning of this table? How much current is consumed when the device is actually operating in different modes? Our actual device is measured to 2.2mA of current consumption under the conditions: VDD = DVDD =3.3V  /  2K SPS

  2. How do I understand the RLD Isc parameter?

  • Hello Morgan,

    Thanks for your post!

The total device power will increase slightly for higher data rates, but I don't have any characterization data to share that would confirm how much. Does the total current consumption look correct if you match the settings at the top of the Electrical Characteristics table (i.e. 500 SPS, Gain = 6, etc.)? The typical current consumption for AVDD = DVDD = 3.3 V should be around 280 uA. If you enable the RLD amplifier, that should only add another 5 uA, so I expect the total to be less than 300 uA.

The short-circuit current of the RLD amplifier is the most current it can provide before the output voltage collapses (i.e. in the event of a low-impedance connection to ground). This should be much more than you ever need in normal operation.

    Best Regards,
