ADC12DJ3200: ADC12DJ3200EVM for an x-band application

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01442

1. I'm interested in evaluating the ADC12DJ3200EVM for an x-band application.
2. Is there any additional hardware need other than what is recommended in TIDA-01442 reference design document Fig. 4 and  ADCxxDJxx00 evaluation module user's guide section 2.2 ?

3. Also In the TIDA-01442 reference design document Fig. 4 there is a block labeled "switch", what is that for?

  • Hello Eric,
This should be an excellent evaluation tool for your use.
For 2) the hardware listed is adequate for an internal clock mode (PLL). If external clock is required, read through that section and provide external clock.
For 3) The purpose of the 'switch' is to provide the same signal to the A/B inputs for testing. In an application you would not have a switch in this position, so it is not required.

    Brian
