ADC12DJ3200: Calculation of R value in jesd operating mode

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS52J65, , ADS52J90

Dear sir,

What value to be considered for Fbit and Fclk for calculation of R value.

sysref frequency to be calculated for ADS52J65 Chip by using this formula F = (R * FCLK)/(10*F*K*N)

Regards,

bharath

  • Hi bharath
Are you trying to calculate an R value for ADS52J65, or do you need clarification of the R value meaning in the ADC12DJ3200 datasheet?

  • Hello sir,

    Yes .

    1. First i want clarification of R value in ADC12DJ3200.

    2. What will be sysref frequency for ADS52J65 chip. Whether the same formula is applicable for this device.

    Regards,
    Bharath
  • Hi bharath

    1. In many ADC devices the serial line rate can be calculated fairly easily based on the ADC resolution, sample rate, number of converters etc. With the ADC12DJ3200 there are a number of modes where Tail bits are used to fit a specific number of samples into each frame, and pad the frame length up to an even number of octets. When Tail bits are used the line rate calculation can get more complicated. To make things easier for our customers we have done the calculations ahead of time and provided the R values in Table 18. To calculate line rate simply multiply the ADC clock frequency by the R value. (R = Fbit/Fclk).

    2. I am not familiar with the ADS52J65 chip so I'm going to assign this question to an engineer who is. You should get a response on this portion of the question soon. If you don't please post a question with ADS52J90 in the subject line. That is a released device supported by the same experts.

    Best regards,

    Jim B

  • Hi bharath
I don't have any information on the ADS52J65 so I would like to close this thread.
If you still need help on that device, please post a new thread with ADS52J90 as the product of interest. That will be directed to the experts also supporting the ADS52J65.
    Best regards,
