DAC3484: DAC sampling Rate

I want to Transmit signal in range 100MHz - 6GHz(Fmax) within the Bandwidth of 40MHz. I need to choose a DAC but what should be minimum sampling rate of my DAC ?

Can i choose DAC3484 for transmitting 6GHz?

Hey Kshitij,

The DAC3484 max sampling frequency is 1.25 GHz. which is too low to transmit at 6 GHz.

What is the application you are asking for. We know the RF output range you're looking for but what are some other parameters and constraints such as desired interface, number of channels, etc.

Dual channel atleast, interface preferably LVDS,

Main constraint is power we need of less than 2watt.

Transmitting at 6GHz with good performance will probably require you to look into an RF DAC.

Have you looked into our DAC38RFxx parts? Apart from the JEDS204b interface they might be a good fit for what you want.

Yes, I have looked into but the thing is they are taking more than 2W and our target is less than 2W. That's why we can't consider these...

As we are going to RF amplifier at output. But power dissipation of DAC should be less that 2W or around 1.5W

You can still use the DAC3484 but with a IQ modulator to mix up to 6GHz. Try this platform to meet your low consumption power needs.
