DAC3484: NCO only mode

Hello

Is there a mode that enables the DAC to output the NCO frequency? Without any data input? If so, can you please send the registers and data list? (similar to DAC38J84, for instance)

Thanks

  • Hey Izik,

Please send me your desired configuration settings and i will send you a config file.

    Dac sampling frequency
    Input data rate
    interpolation
    NCO frequency
    Input frequency
    Etc.

  • Hi

    Fdac=960MHz

    NCO AB = 120MHz

    NCO CD = 240MHz

NCO only mode so data and interpolation are irrelevant

    Thanks

    Izik

  • Hey Izik,

The NCO will receive data from the SPI Bus (enable through SIFDAC_ENA), and change the amplitude through SIFDAC(15:0)

Move the NCO value for frequency change, and move the sifdac(15:0) for amplitude

DATACLK is the only signal needed to latch in the SIFDAC data into the FIFO. DATACLK need to be running.

  • Izik,

Did it answer your question ?

    Yusuf,

Can you maybe attach a configuration file as example showing how to operate the device in NCO only mode (CW) without any data input ?

    Regards,

    Nir.
