Linux/IWR1443: Recommendations for linux compatible MIPI-CSI2 interface

Part Number: IWR1443

Tool/software: Linux

I am looking to stream ADC data to do processing on a computer, which requires a CSI2 interface from what I understand. I see that the TSW1400EVM can act as a CSI2 interface, but the documentation suggests that this is interface is Windows only. Does anybody know of an interface that I can use on a Linux OS?

  • Hello Colleen,

The current raw ADC data capture option from TI uses the TSW1400EVM to capture the raw data using LVDS signals from the mmWave EVM. The software required to control the TSW1400EVM is only available for Windows.

There will be a new TI mmWave ADC data capture card (which also uses the LVDS signals) that will be released in the near future that will be able to stream the data over Ethernet. The mmWave Studio software which will be used to control the capture card and process the output data is also only available for Windows.

We do not support any other options for capturing LVDS or CSI2 data but there may be other methods available from other manufacturers.

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi John, I realize that the TSW1400 does not support Linux. Thanks for the answer, but I'd like to leave this thread open to see if anyone in the community has suggestions on a linux-compatible data processing solution from another manufacturer.

For the future, adding linux compatibility to the data capture card would be a great feature as it is the only non-linux compatible device across the 3 needed to capture raw ADC samples which is very unfortunate.
  • Hi Colleen,

We've moved this thread to the High Speed Data Converters forum so that if someone with TSW1400 experience might be able to help you. We'll also leave this thread open for now.

    Cheers,
