Why is the amplitude of the signal decreasing if I increase the number of tones in a given bandwidth in HSDC PRO?

Also, is there a fixed relation between the amplitude of the signals generated corresponding to number of tones?

    Hey Shashank,

    The RF output power is finite. Therefore the more tones you have the more the total energy is distributed among your tones. This is why you see smaller tone amplitude as tones increase.

    I understand that energy is distributed and the average power remains the same. Actually I want know the relationship between the number of tones and the power degradation.

    Hey Shashank,

    I think you may mean peak to average ratio. The more tones you have the greater your peak to average ratio will be will leads to higher power degradation. As far a formal definition for this relationship, it depends on the frequency and phase of the tones you have present and where they construct when they are summed together. You may have you use matlab to definitively know the relationship.
