ADS7142: Power Consumption Question

Part Number: ADS7142

Hi All,

I see that we state 900 nW power consumption on the front page of the data sheet when in autonomous mode.   In looking at the specs, it's not clear how we arrive at this level of power consumption.  I assume AVdd and DVdd are both set to 1.65V, correct?   What are the other variables we need to be aware of (nCLK, etc) to get the lowest power consumption?

Thanks,

Sal

  • Hi Sal

Yes, datasheet number of 900nW is measured with 1.8V AVDD and DVDD.

nCLK is another parameter which affects overall power consumption when using low power oscillator. nCLK=255 will give you the lowest power consumption as mentioned in the datasheet.

Can you please let me know what are your system specs (AVDD/DVDD, sampling speed requirements) and the input signal you are trying to measure

    Thanks & Regards
