ADS7142: High threshold alert, but no low threshold alert possible?

Hi,

I'm designing for an application where a mcu must be waken from sleep when a signal gets high.

For this purpose we'd like to use the ADS7142. I managed to get the ADS to alert on a high threshold, so far so good.

The problem is that even if I set the Lower threshold to zero, a low signal also generates the alert, which is not what we want.

Is there a way to generate an alert on a high threshold only?

Martijn,

The use case that you have described is valid. But the ADS7142 does not have the capability to individually enable/disable the high and low thresholds.

What is the normal operating range of your input signal? If zero is a valid input, is it be possible to shift this signal a few milliVolts to avoid the ALERT on zero condition?

Thanks Sandeep. We're now looking into lifting the signal above zero, which will probably work.
