AFE5809EVM: Regarding interfacing with FPGA

Kindly help me with the interfacing of AFE5809 EVM module with Cyclone V GX starter kit using TI HSMC-ADC Bridge.

If anyone has done any kind of research or work regarding this, please let me know.

Hi Shyam,

The AFE5809EVM has not been tested with the Cyclone V GX card.

Having said that I looked at the schematics of the TI HSMC-ADC bridge card.
Checking the LVDS channel assignments, CH1-8 from the ADC is interfaced to LVDS CH4 through CH11.

Additionally there are no SPI signals routed to the connector on the ADC board (the SPI connection pins are grounded).
You will need to find out if that is ok on the Cyclone board. This implies you cannot configure the ADC from the FPGA board. You will have to use the AFE5809GUI to configure the AFE.

Sir could you please send us the link for latest AFE5809GUI for Windows 10. On the TI website, GUI for upto Windows 7 is only available.

The AFE5809 GUI works on a Windows 10 OS as well.

I tried installing it but it failed.

Can you please elaborate on what you mean by 'it failed'?

Did the GUI throw any error during the installation or do you get any error while starting/running the GUI?
In either case, can you attach the error messages?

The link is correct. Can you confirm if you installed the GUI in administrator mode?

Yes you will need the TSW1400 EVM for the data capture and display.

Sir, the software has successfully been installed.

Actually , I don't want to display the data. I just want to provide the analog input to AFE5809EVM and to transfer the converted digital signals to be processed in FPGA via HSMC-ADC-Bridge. So do I require TSW1400 for that purpose?

I have installed the software in one of the the PC's but in the other PC an unknown error is coming. Below is the screenshot regarding the issue. Kindly look into the matter.

As such, this error message does not offer any information to help us debug the error.
Can you reattach the error message after clicking on the "Details>>" button to see if there is any error code or something?

Shyam,

Below are some of the common reasons that potentially could cause this error.

Not running the Installer with administrator rights.
Antivirus might be blocking the Installer.
Try uninstalling all the NI Softwares present in the PC and try installing the GUI. This is because the NI softwares might have been corrupted.
Files missing in the GUI Installer folder. (Can you verify if all the files present in the GUI folder is same as in the PC where the installer worked)
