I have a device using the TSC2046 and i am trying the TSC2046E to help with ESD issues. The screen is locking up when hit with voltages in the 2kv to 8kv range. The problem i am having is that i am seeing it more often with the TSC2046E than i was with the TSC2046. On the data sheet for the TSC2046E is says it exceeds IEC 6100-4-2 ESD for 15kv. Does this just mean that the device wont fail or will prevent it from locking up

    Hello John.
    Yes, the TSC2046E was designed to be functionally equivalent to the TSC2046, but more robust to ESD.
    Normally survivability to IEC strikes depends significantly on the system board/ layout. Assuming those have been taken care of, you should see more robust ESD performance by using the TSC2046E.
