AFE4300: Frequencies IQ mode is supported

Part Number: AFE4300

after reading the datasheet of AFE4300, I have a question about the setup of the registers.

It is about the relation between the he frequency of the BCM excitation current source and I/Q demodulator clock frequency. In datasheet of sbas586c,page 28, the relation is defined by the equation IQ_DEMOD_CLK = fCLK / (IQ_DEMOD_CLK_DIV_FAC) =BCM_DAC_FREQ × 4. Is there miss a coeffcient of 1024? IQ_DEMOD_CLK_DIV_FAC only has six predefined values.Is the eqution right?

  • Hi Byron,

    Yes, the equation is correct.
    The IQ demodulator clock divider can only be set to divide by 2, 4, 8, 16, or 32 and the IQ demodulator clock must be 4 times the BCM DAC frequency.
  • thanks a lot!

    I still have a question about  the ADC measurement mode selection.

    In the register of ADC_CONTROL_REGISTER1,the ADC measurement mode selection have three options:

    000 --->A1,A2=differential(default)

    001 --->A1, AVSS = single-ended

    010 --->A2, AVSS = single-ended

    In IQ mode, which option should be chooosen?

    and the choice depend on what?
