    Hi David,

    The FDC2214 is our highest resolution capacitive sensing device, and can be used for both proximity sensing applications and capacitive touch applications. Its resonance-based architecture makes it more noise immune than traditional switched-capacitor based architectures, which is desirable for proximity sensing applications.
