DAC2904: DAC2904

Part Number: DAC2904

Hi ,

We are using DAC2904 in one of our carrier board and we are connecting same BUS for both the channels as shown in the attached image. The length matching details also attached herewith. In the SOM we are using length difference is more than 1.5 inch is there between the signals . My question is what is the maximum tolerance we can have between the signals for DAC2904? Length difference of 1.5inch is acceptable?

  • Hello,

The typical rule of thumb for FR4 material 50ohm Transmission line is about 100ps to 200ps of delay per 1inch of trace. With 1.5inches of trace, the delay difference is approximately worst case 300ps.

The setup/hold time requirement for the DAC2904 is listed below. THe setup/hold time includes for the overall delay (superset) of all input lines. I think as long as you center align your clock to latch the data 90 degrees with respect to the clock, then you should be able to meet the setup/hold time fairly easily.
