PLABS-SAR-EVM-PDK: ???

Part Number: PLABS-SAR-EVM-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM5142

The PSI module in the PLABS-SAR-EVM-PDK possesses PCB traces for "CLOCK" and "Analog IN" signals. Is there a description of how these two ports can be used? Is there a schematic for the PSI module so I can best determine how to fully use the PSI module?

  • Hello David,

The PSI can be bought sepreatly, and thus has its own product folder. Here you can find a user guide that includes a schematic for the board.

The clock input is a privision provided to use an external clock to the PCM5142 that is extepected to be used in further developments. We currently do not support it or provide details on in the documentation, but the provision is available if you would like to take advantage of it. In the schematic, you can see an external clock can be used if R78 is removed, and a 0ohm resistor is placed on R79, note that the software provided will not support this though.

The analog in is a provision to use an external input signal instead of using the on board created signal entered in the software. Note that the on board filter is designned for a 2khz signal, thus, if the external input signal is not at 2kHz, the filter will be need to be bypassed using JP1, and JP3. Also JP2 will need to be set to EXT setting.

    Regards
