ADS1274: about AGND and DGND

Hi everybody!

I have a question about " ADS1274 Datasheet ".

In the ”APPLICATION INFORMATION” P37 of ADS1274 Datasheet (SBAS367F.pdf) ,
”2.Ground Plane. ”
There is a description
"If separate digital and analog grounds are used,connect the grounds together at the converter."

Question1:　What is the meaning of this?
　　　　　Perhaps it means that you should connect close to ADS1274 between AGND and DGND.
　
Question２:
Does this mean that AGND and DGND are connected inside the converter?
Is this false?

"Figure 130. System Component Placement"
Do you agree with the idea as shown in the figure?
