DAC7750: Use of the CLR pin from a wdog timer IC.

Part Number: DAC7750

I am looking for a power supervisor (3.3VDC CPU), watchdog (Windowed WDOG)  IC with a /RESET output for the uC that also contains a RESET that can be used by the CLR pin of the DAC7750 IC.  I prefer not to use an inverter to create a RESET from a /RESET.  I believe I've seen these in the past, however cannot seem to navigate in the website sufficiently to locate them now.

  • Hi John,

I looked at some of the voltage supervisors and it looks like most of them are active low outputs while the CLR pin is active high. Is there a particular reason that you do not want to use an inverter? This seems like the most simple way to accomplish clearing the DAC from an active low signal. I am not too familiar with the voltage supervisor families so if there is on that you remember seeing that would accomplish this perhaps you could post to the power management forum. It sounds like you are looking for one with both an active low and active high output.

    Thanks,
    Garrett
  • Thanks Garrett,

I was hoping to not add another IC to my design.  I can use an inverter IC or make an inverter circuit with an NPN common emitter transistor.  Sadly, I can't remember if and where I thought I saw a /RESET with a RESET as well.  I thought it somewhat strange for the DAC7750 to use a CLR and not a /CLR signal logic.  Thanks for your help.
