DAC3484: alarm question

Part Number: DAC3484

after i config the dac3484,than i read register 0x05,the value is 0x0000,than i write register 0x20,than the register 0x05 change to 0x3980,means alarm, i donnot know why

    Hi Qi Ning,

    The configuration of 0x20 register need to be sequential and also other information (timing signal) such as ISTR/FRAME/OSTR. The alarm will reflect on the timing signal and the initialization of the FIFO and other digital logics. The fact that you are seeing alarm in the FIFO indicates that the FIFO may not yet been initialized by the timing signal yet.

    I recommend you refer to the following app note to understand the importance of the timing signal and the relationship to a good start-up sequence of the DAC3484
