ADS131E06: Power-Up Time

Part Number: ADS131E06

Hi Team,

Quick questions from customer.

1) In new (2017) version of Datasheet, we add Power-Up Time spec = 128ms for ADS131E06, what does this spec meaning? Meaningafter power we need to wait for 128ms then we can start to communicate with device through SPI?

2) After hardware RESET, how long min would need to wait before sending command to the device?

3) After finish all the initial register settings, we can start the ADC sampling operation without extra wait time, correct?

In other words, there is none register would need extra wait time after command setting. Correct?

Thanks.

Andrew

  • Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for your post!

Is this in regards to the other question as well?

    1) yes.
    2) & 3) From section 9.4.2 of the datasheet: The RESET command takes effect on the eighth SCLK falling edge of the command. After a reset, 18 tCLK cycles are required to complete initialization of the configuration registers to default states and start the conversion cycle. Note that an internal reset is automatically issued to the digital filter whenever the CONFIG1 register is set to a new value with a WREG command.
