Hello all,

Is it possible to do a simultaneous measurement with two FDC1004EMs?

I connected two boards to different computers (so I could use GUI), and received huge interference between the EVMs.

Have you noticed this before? how to go around this issue?

Hi Alex,

Could you clarify what kind of interference you are seeing between the two EVMs? The FDC1004 can be somewhat sensitive to noise, so it is possible that the devices are interfering with one another.

To take simultaneous measurements with two FDC1004EVMs you will either need to use two computers (to use the Sensing Solutions GUI) or write LabVIEW code.

Hello Kristin,

I believe that devices are interfering with each other, because as I change the acquisition rate on one of them, the signal on the other EVM follows it.
Is it possible to set them somehow so that they don't pick each other?

Hi Alex,

Is the actual acquisition rate of the unmodified EVM changing? Or are you seeing noise in the output data?

The rate of unmodified EVM does not change-just the noise in the output data.

Hi Alex,

While I have not seen this specific problem before, it's not surprising that the sensors are interfering with one another. What is your target? If it's possible to ground the target this may help. I would also recommend making sure the EVMs share GND. Definitely use the shield for your sensors. If this doesn't solve the issue, you may need to physically separate the sensors as much as possible.
