ADS1261EVM: The device does not switch back from device firmware update mode to the bulk mode

Part Number: ADS1261EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1261, LMFLASHPROGRAMMER,

Hello !

I use the ADS1261EVM kit and yesterday it works very well with the Delta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTIon Software...

But than I pressed the S4 button (BSL button) to try the Device Firmware Update (DFU) mode and it worked (see image below).

After a new reset (S2 button) the device driver goes not back to the bulk mode.

(change the usb port, reinstall the driver, reboot.... nothing helps)

What's going wrong ?

Without the "BULK MODE" the EVAL Kit is unusable, because I can't use the eval software !

Has anyone some hint to solve the driver problem ?

Maybe helps a firmware update (need the ADS1261EVM.bin file ;) ?

Many thanks in advance !

regards

rick

  • Hi Rick,

Welcome to the TI E2E Forums!

The TIVA MCU on the ADS1261EVM enumerates as a TivaWare DFU, by default, once its flash memory has been erased. At this point you'll need to flash the MCU again to be able to use the EVM.

To do this you'll need to download and install LMFLASHPROGRAMMER. If you also installed the ADS1261EVM-DVCPKG, you should then be able to navigate to "C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\Documents\DSEvalSW\Devices\ADS1261\fw" and run the "FIRMWARE_UPDATE.bat" script to run LM Flash Programmer for you and load the binary file included in that directory.

Let me know if you run into any issues during this process.

    Best regards,
    Chris

  • Hey Chris,

the magic "FIRMWARE_UPDATE.bat" was the key to success !
    Thanks a lot !

    That saves my day :)
