SM73201-ARC-EV: Information Regarding Regulatory Compliance for Testing

Part Number: SM73201-ARC-EV

Hello I am using TI-ARC Fault solution as a reference design to build final solution on the top of it. Currently, we are in initial testing of the solution for in house safety compliance.

As per the Firmware file, it includes UL1998 routines, can we know if it's implementation is complete in the original code ? Is there any supporting documentation which can be availed for the reference purpose?. Is it fully UL1998 compliant / listed? Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

  • Hello,

All materials, including hardware design and firmware examples, are for reference only.  The Firmware file that you reference is provided to assist you in developing the necessary code to meet the different requirements, but none of the code is 'compliant' as-is; it is up to you to develop, test and obtain these approvals.

Below is the official statement regarding the RD-195 reference design:

This software and related material [the “RD195-ARCDETECT-SW-PACKAGE” (RD-195 SW), the “C2000-IEC60730-SW-PACKAGE” (C2000 SW), and the RD-195 DC ARC Detection Reference Design Solution (SM73201-ARC-EV)], is provided STRICTLY FOR INTERNAL EXAMPLE PURPOSES only.  It is intended as an example or starting point ONLY, for you to review and use internally in developing or creating your own fully developed and tested ARC-Detection system. It is not intended for further distribution or use in any product, system, or application which would be released into the public. Please review the accompanying limited license agreement carefully; this material is provided subject to those terms and strictly on an “AS IS” basis; no technical support is available.
