ADC128S102QML-SP: Input Impedance value

Part Number: ADC128S102QML-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC128S102,

What will it take from TI to modify its ADC128S102 (all of its variants) by disconnecting input MUX output from the rest of internal circuitry and adding 2 more pins: one for this MUX output, the other to where MUX was connected before (sampling capacitor circuitry).  In this case user can either connect them together to mimic an original architecture, or insert an OpAmp, thus reconciling of high impedance MUX sources with sampling capacitor low impedance requirements; user can also change this OpAmp gain if needed.  Or TI can at least insert a unity gain buffer without any extra pins between the above mentioned nodes.

  • Hello Alex,
Is your need for a space grade or commercial product? The space grade product is different from the commercial product. TI has no plans to modify the space grade product. We do have other space grade precision ADCs. Please go to ti.com/space to see our space grade products.

If your interest is in a commercial part, TI has many different 12b ADCs, based on the same architecture as the commercial ADC128S102, plus many more precision ADC options. However, the commercial parts will not have the radiaiton hardness of the space grade ADC128S102QML-SP.
