AFE4490: Help about calculation SpO2

Part Number: AFE4490

Can someone please help me with SPO2 calculation?

I am using AFE4490 Breakout board. After i read registers 0x2A to 0x2F, how to calculate ACrms and DC values of Red and IR LED's using these six registers? Please help!

Thankyou in advance!

  • Hi Sweety Bhaskare,

The six output registers of AFE4490 are "Red LED", "Ambient1', "IR LED", "Ambient2", "Red LED - Ambient1", and "IR LED - Ambient2".
We recommend the users to use Red-Ambient1 and IR-Ambient2 output as suppresses the modulation of the heart rate signal due to ambient light.
So finally you have to use "Red-Ambient1" and "IR-Ambient2" in your calculation to SpO2.
DC of the signal can be found by taking the average whereas AC can be found by calculating the RMS value of the signal.
