ADS124S06: IOVDD connected to AVDD

Part Number: ADS124S06

Hi Bob,

Out customer also would like to share 5V for both IOVDD and AVDD.

(DVDD=3.3V).

May I double check if the digital power will not impact analog rail?

The 5V is generated from TPS73150 with 1uF Bypass capacitor and 0.1uF for NR pin.

I am understanding your recommendation to add 100nF bypass cap, layout guidelines and AGND/DGND (IOGND) guidance in the datasheet.

5V will be shared to use for a microelectronic (32MHz clk) on board.

Best regards,

Masa

  • Hi Katayama-san,

IOVDD and AVDD can share the same supply source. There is always the possibility that the digital can effect the analog, but this will be primarily in PCB layout. Always bypass supply inputs on devices connected to power supplies. The ADS124S06 also requires a 330nF cap between AVDD and AVSS.

Always keep digital signals from crossing into analog areas. Use a solid ground plane as opposed to ground traces when connecting device grounds together.

    Best regards,
    Bob B
  • Hi Bob again,
