ADS1292ECG-FE: ADS1292ECG-FE

Part Number: ADS1292ECG-FE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1292, ADS1298

I down loaded the software and seems the loaded properly but when I plug the eval kit to USB the computer does not recognize the board on the USB. How do I get around this? Thanks

  • Hi Nasser,

    Thanks for your post!

Are you following the steps in the User's Guide? Did you download the USBstyx driver?
  • No, where do I down load the USBstyx driver? Thanks
  • Thanks for the reply and yes I am following up the User's guide. Also when I open the ADS1x9x ECG-FE application a popup window shows up with the following message: "An error occurred with error code 8" so I am not sure if the usb cannot be configured to the eval kit or somethin else. Also I can't lunch the popups from section 3.3 of the User's guide. Thanks again for help.
  • I was just checking issues with other folks and there were some mention on limitation of the window 8 or so. I am using this eval kit with windows 10 and I was wondering if this kit is operational with windows 10? Thanks again for your help.
  • Apologies Nasser, the USBstyxx driver is for the ADS1298 platform, not the ADS1292.

Downloading the USB driver is under section 3.3 Installing the USB Drivers of the User's Guide, which you have already been following.

Unfortunately the software was deigned for Microsoft Windows® XP SP2 operating system or Windows 7 operating system as indicated in the User's Guide.

As you mentioned, customers have been able to find workarounds to get the software to work on Windows 10. This requires installing as administrator and changing file permissions: e2e.ti.com/.../350465
  • Hi Alex,

Thanks for the note and I tried the eval kit with the windows 7 and still didn't work and show the same symptoms as the windows 10. Seems like the window does not see the kit on the USB and I didn't see any notes as in the application in regard to configuration of the USB port. I can configure the USB port for different setting such at baud rate and so on if I know what they are for this kit. If you can send some information on USB setting I will try it. Thanks again.

  • Hi Nasser,

I do not have the manual configuration settings that would be required, nor am I sure that it would work.

Have you tried additional USB wires to ensure that the wire is fine?

Can you take a screenshot of your device manager and show where the USB driver is pointing to, like below?

You may need to uninstall the current driver and re-install using the file explorer that points to the correct folder.

I recommend completely uninstalling and re-installing the software as administrator.
