DAC81416: positive negative power source

Part Number: DAC81416

Hi Sir

May I know which power solution will be used for DAC81416 reference design ?

For +/-20V

Thanks

  • Hello Kai,

Are you referring to a specific reference design or are you just in general asking for a dual +/-20V power solution? Would anything else be on these supplies or just the DACs?
  • Hi Kevin

I would like to know ,if design DAC81416 for new project ,What's power solution you will suggest ?

    Thanks
  • Hi Kai,

In normal operation, DAC outputs unloaded and SPI not toggling, we can anticipate about 0.4mA to VIO, 0.5mA to VDD, 30mA to VAA, 20mA for VCC, and -35mA for VSS. It is reasonable for VIO, VDD, and VAA to be connected to the same supply rail as they're both rated for the same voltages, meanwhile VCC and VSS will need to be separate rails, at least of 20V but potentially also with the headroom voltage listed on page 9 of the datasheet based on your expected load impedance.

If there are any other components residing on these rails, then of course that would need to be taken into account as well.

In short, the exact power needs depend on the exact use case and expected load impedances for each of the outputs.
