I am trying to use the KCU105 with the ADC32RF45EVM and am following all the steps mentioned in the user guide. I keep getting the following error and am not able to connect to get the setup working. All

other previous steps are successful.

One thing I am doing differently though is that I connect the ethernet port directly to the KCU105 from my computer using a cable and not through any network router. I see the below screen in that scenario

where it says "DHCP time out" which I don't see in the screenshot in the user guide.

Could you please help me troubleshoot and understand where in the reason would lie for the connection not success error and what needs to be done to fix it?

Hi Aravind,

Yes, you are correct that this appears to be a network issue. Do you have an option to use a router?

I do not have a router next to where the entire setup. I can try to get one, but is there a way to get it to work connecting directly to my laptop ethernet port . Seems bizarre that I have to go through a router when I can directly connect to my laptop itself.

Aravind,

You should be able to connect directly to your PC. In the screen shot shown above, did you click on the box next to the text "Connect to KCU105" and then enter the board IP Address? I do not see this in your screen shot.

Yes. I did what you mentioned. That is when I get this error. I tried in two different computers one with Win 7 and one Win 10. In both the cases the error was the same.

From your snapshot, it appears that an IP address is getting assigned. Can you verify you are entering the values shown in the attached file when setting up HSDC Pro?
