DAC8564: What to do with DAC8564 Enable Pin?

Part Number: DAC8564

As the title says, what should I do with the DAC's enable pin? Can I just connect it to ground? Or do I have to use it like a second chip select with SYNC? Can I tie sync and enable together?

  • Hi Marco,

Thank you for your query. The enable pin is used to enable or disable the SPI interface. This is mainly useful in case you are sharing the SPI bus with other devices. This pin should be tied to ground in case you are not using it.

Do not tie it to SYNC. There is a timing requirement between the two (t11).

    Hope that answers your query.
