ADS122C04EVM: ADS122C04EVM not able to load Device package on Delta Sigma ADC Evaluation Software

Part Number: ADS122C04EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS122C04, ADS112C04EVM

Hi,

I have installed the Delta Sigma ADC evaluation software and ADS122C04 device package. However, software itself does not load the device package when I opened it.

The software showed "hardware connected" and D1 and D2 green LEDs light up. I did click on "Refresh/Sync" button, but not response at all.

Below is the picture that I capture:

How do I fix this problem?

  • Hi Chin Khor!

Welcome to our e2e forum! Can you please re-post the picture/screen capture that you wanted to show us? It never made it through with your initial posting.
  • Hi Chin,

Make sure that the device package you installed is the correct one for the EVM being used. Make sure that you are not using the ADS112C04EVM (16-bit device) with the ADS122C04 (24-bit) device package (or vice versa). The GUI makes a call to the EVM asking for its ID and loads the register settings from the device package from the EVM's ID response. The GUI looks for the device package in a folder called DSEvalSW. You can check to make sure that the correct device package was loaded by looking at the Documents folder. You should see a path:
    Documents\DSEvalSW\Devices\ADS122C04\
with a number of files and folders under the ADS122C04 folder. If you do not see this, then the device package did not install correctly.

It is necessary to install the main GUI first, and then the device package otherwise the proper folder structure will not be setup. You might want to try and uninstall the device package, then reinstall it.

    Best regards,
    Bob B
  • Thanks Bob!
I downloaded the wrong package (16 bits device) instead of 24 bits device package. I able to read all the registers now. Thanks for promptly advice!
