AFE5809: AFE5809

Part Number: AFE5809

I am trying to capture data using AFE5809EVAL with TSW1400 using the two GUI's provided by TI along with these boards. For the default configuration sampling frequency is 40MHz. But i want to use a lower sampling frequency. If i am changing sampling frequency from HSDC Pro GUI, i am getting correct signal. How to use this GUI for different sampling frequencies in the range of 500KHz to 20MHz

  • Hi Swati,
    How are you?
Thank you for using AFE5809EVM and TSW1400EVM.
Yes, we will look into your question and will reply to you very soon.

    Thank you very much!
    Have a nice day!

  • Hi Swati,

    How are you?

Thanks for using AFE5809EVM and TSW1400EVM.

    1) First, if you need to use External Clock source to generate different sampling frequencies

    for AFE5809 ADC's Input clock,

then according to the AFE5809 data sheet, this sampling freq is limited

    from 10MSPS to 65MSPS range.

Please take a look from the data sheet spec:

    2) Here shows you how to connect EXT Input Clock source to AFE5809EVM.

And also how this EXT Input Clock (so you can change sampling frequency as you want)

connects to the whole system including AFE5809EVM + TSW1400EVM together:

    3) Also when you change the External clock source frequency to AFE5809's Clock IN,

then when you are trying to run TSW1400 GUI to capture output data from AFE5809 device.

Please set up the TSW1400 GUI according to your signal settings correctly shown one example as below:

    Thank you very much!

    Have a nice day!

    Best regards,
