ADS1259: SNR of ADS1259 is negative value

Part Number: ADS1259
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO

Hi,

Please help to analysis why the SNR is negative value with ADCpro?

Best regards

Kailyn

  • Hi Kailyn,

Could you provide more information about the signal you are trying to measure? Are the ADC inputs shorted, or are you testing with an AC signal?

Upon initial inspection of the FFT, it would appear that you are only looking at a noise signal (since the largest spur is only 9.1 dB higher than the noise flow). In this case ADCPro is taking the largest noise spur and calling it your "signal"; however, since the total noise power is larger than the "signal" power, the SNR is negative.
