DDC114: Input SOA and connection lenght

Part Number: DDC114

I have to measure the current of a 30V inverted biased diode. The range is down to some nA in which I have to appreciate variations of tens pA.

- I want to know if problems can occur during sampling or standby.

- I would like to know some of your experience on connecting devices to be measured with shielded cables and not: lengths, noise, problems ... etc

  • Hi Claudio,
    How are you?
    Thanks for using DDC114 device.
I will forward your questions to our group
and will reply to you very soon.
    Thank you!
    Best regards,

  • Hi Claudio,

What you describe is the typical application of the device. Just make sure the current flows into the device, as described on the fig. 3 of the datasheet. Nevertheless, not sure what you mean on your first question for "problems"... the device does not have STBY. The description of the sampling is described on the datasheet and the device works as described with the specified performance. Can you be more specific?

On the 2nd, most of our customers do not use cables but mount the DDC and PD in the same PCB. Nevertheless, there are some that do place the PDs remotely, away from the DDC, as there may be special circumstances like damaging radiation in the vicinity of the PD. The same theory that applies to one applies to the other and you can see the noise increase due to the increased capacitance in page 6 of the datasheet. Other than that, I can't think of any other effects, except, for, of course, EMC related concerns...

    Regards,
    Eduardo
