ADS1262: ads1262

Part Number: ADS1262

ads1262 is for weight scale application suitable for more than 2,50,000 counts??

  • Hi Kinnari,

I suspect you mean 2,500,000 counts, which is about 21.25 bits of accuracy. Table 2 on page 28 of the ADS1262 data sheet provides you with both ENOB and (Noise Free Bits) detail for various sample rates and filter modes. The ADS1262 can achieve the performance you require.
  • Hi Kinnari,

To add some additional details to Tom's post...

The noise performance you can expect to achieve will depend on many other factors including the data rate you run the ADC at and what the amplitude of your input signal is. The ENOB table in the ADS1262 datasheet tells you the dynamic range with respect to a 5V signal. However, in most weigh-scale applications the maximum input voltage is only 10 mV, so the the noise free-count with respect to a 10 mV signal will be significantly smaller.

The easiest way to calculate to calculate noise-free counts for a specific input signal is to divide your input signal amplitude, by the ADC's input-referred noise (using the peak-to-peak value).
