AMC1203: Output Signal Phase Delay

Part Number: AMC1203
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1204

Hi team,

My customer is using AMC1203*3 for motor drives control - 3 phase current sampling.

Since the frequency of three devices is not synconized, it causes phase delay between the output which is not good for control algorithm.

I'm wondering if the team has any documents to address the issue or any solutions? Thanks.

Regards,

Patrick

  • Hi Patrick,

The AMC1203 uses an internal modulator clock. There is no way to synchronize three devices so that they would have exactly the same phase relationship. You could use three AMC1204 devices which would all run from the same external clock source or possibly one AMC1203 and two AMC1204 devices which are fed from the MCLK output of the AMC1203.
