AFE5816EVM: AFE5816EVM with TSW1405

Hello,

I am using the AFE5816EVM with the data card TSW1405 and found that there is no INI file available for this combination.

I have tried the ini file from the 5808 (found in the forum here), there I got some communication, but not the expected waveforms.

Is it possible to provide the INI file?

Hi Mark,
Thanks for using AFE5808 EVM and AFE5816EVM.
Actually according to the User's Guides, these two EVMs are recommended to connected to TSW1400EVM.
Therefore we will look into your questions for using TSW1405 board.
And I will reply to you very soon.

used for 12bit mode only.

Thanks Chen,

for the ini file and for the fast action.

I will have a detailed look later in the new year.

Just have tried quickly and it seems to work, I can see the test pattern, so the communication between both boards is probably fine.

Chen,

I can see the test pattern in the HSDC Pro GUI.
But I can't recive signals from the analog inputs of the AFE5816.
Any idea? Could it have something to do with the ini file?
Communication works with the AFE and the FPGA card.

Please take a look at TI website AFE5816EVM User Guide:

We only suggest and support using AFE5816EVM with TSW1400EVM.
Because we did not try AFE5816EVM using other TSW EVM.

Hi Chen,

thanks anyway.

I will see what I can do about it.

I think it must have somethings to do with the AFE, as the LVDS data transfer works, when I do the test pattern.

Will update when I find out.

Hi Mark,
As you can see from TI website link (please see the user's guide),
for our AFE LVDS output device, we only use TSW1400EVM for data capture.
Because TSW1400 can capture many data for many channels as well for our AFE devices.
But other TSW EVM (for example, may be used for other purpose)
may not be able to do so and we also not support other kind of TSW EVM
for testing our AFE devices.
