DDC264EVM: Data acquisition time managment.

Part Number: DDC264EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DDC264,

Hi, I am trying to use the EVM to aquire data with the software provided by TI.

I could not make the program capture and graph more than 500 samples, and that represents only a fraction of a second. Is there a way to make the DDC264 Evaluation program capture either more samples, or with longer intervals?

I need to measure for 20 seconds, and 500 samples are enough. More samples would be great, but not necessary. Can it be done with the default program, or do I have to make a special program with VB6 and use the DLL?

Thanks in advance,

  • Hi Ivan,

    Thanks for using DDC264EVM.
We will look into your question
and I will reply to you very soon.

    Thank you!
    Best regards,
    Chen
  • Hi Ivan,

When running DDC264EVM GUI to aquire more samples,

you can try to increase the value of the "nDVALID Read" to higher

such as 1024 or 4096 and so on for more samples as you needed.

    Please take a look:

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Chen, thanks for your answer. Although it did not resolved my issue, it lead me in the right direction, to solve it.
The nDVALID Read value has a maximum value that depends on the amount of Channel Count, so I dropped down the Channel Count number and, also, changed the CONV High/Low Int values and that allowed me to extend the measuring time to the 20 seconds that I needed.

    Thanks,

    Iván
  • Hi Ivan,

    How are you?

Thanks for trying more method to capture more samples as you requested.

We also tried the following settings and

be able to capture lot of samples,

    please take a look:

    1) First re-adjust the FPGA settings in the DDC264 GUI:

    2) When run the capture "Fast Data",

please wait because it may take longer time to save it to the memory.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Chen
