Linux/ADC12DJ3200EVM: ADC

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12DJ3200, TSW14J57EVM

Tool/software: Linux

Hello,

I noticed that the GUI supplied with the ADC12DJ3200EVM is a Windows application. Is there any source code produced by TI to be able to see the functionality of the GUI that I can get access to? The purpose is to help Raytheon develop a chip that will need access to the functionalities of the GUI. Also, is there a version of the GUI that is compatible with Linux?

  • Hi Zachary,

We only support a windows compatible GUI for the ADC12DJ3200EVM. If you look at the design package and register map in the GUI(located on the ADC12DJ3200EVM website), this should supply the information required to understand the physical connections and GUI functionality. We would be happy to help if you have any questions.

Could you please provide your corporate email address so that we can contact you directly? Any additional information you can provide on your requirements or project will help me to route you to the appropriate resources.

    Best Regards,

    Dan

  • Dan,

I am working with Zachary on this project. I can provide some more details about our project here. Let me know if there is a better way of communicating with you. My email is justenmg@gmail.com.

We are developing a phased array reciever system for Raytheon as part of our Capstone project at Brigham Young university. We are using TI's ADC12DJ3200 because of its synchronized sampling capabilities. We have 3 ADC12DJ3200EVM's that we are using to prototype the reciever, along with a Xilinx Zynq UnltrScale + MPSoC zzcu102 FPGA board. We have tried using the TSW14J57EVM Capture board normally used with the EVM, but in an attempt to speed up data transfer to an SSD we moved to the Xilinx board.

Raytheon plans to use the ADC12DJ3200 for this project, but we would like to be able to use our Xilinx board (running a Linux OS) to program the ADC12DJ3200EVM directly. Essentially, we are hoping to develop a program with similar functionality to the GUI provided by TI. If TI has source code for their GUI available, that would greatly help us with the development of our own interface. We would be happy to purchase any IP that you could provide in order to speed our development process.

I hope that helps. I have begun looking through the registers, but am hoping that we might be able to obtain something more substantial so we don't have to reinvent the wheel.

    Thanks for your quick response.

  • GUI, I get the following error message. When plugging into the board, the LEDs come on, but the GUI cannot connect to the EVM. (hence the lack of green "USB connected" light in the GUI).

Any ideas on where I could find the missing ftd2xx.dll file?

     Also, when installing the

  • Hi Justen

Sorry for the delay. That file would normally be included with the High Speed Data Converter Pro software installation.

If don't need HSDC Pro you can install it using the FTDI D2XX driver installation which is available from their page here:

    https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm

    I hope this is helpful.
